Hi, I’m Mike Gaskins
I’m a solo acoustic singer and guitarist who loves nothing more than a good song and a room full of people enjoying themselves. If I’m playing private events, bars, restaurants or breweries, I always read the crowd and adjust my set so the music always fits the moment. I bring cool, smooth, laid back music that always gets people smiling and singing along.

About Me
I’ve been playing guitar and singing for audiences across Raleigh, Durham, Charlotte, Asheville and the rest of North Carolina for over ten years. Music has been part of my life a lot longer than that though.
I grew up singing in church. My first group was called the Five Kings of Hamlet. That’s where I learned how a song can pull a whole room together. A familiar melody turns strangers into an audience that’s singing along and smiling at each other.
Before music became my full time work, I spent 25 years as an international sales and marketing executive with Blue Cross Blue Shield. That career took me all over the world. It gave me an appreciation for different cultures and different kinds of music, and that shows up in the variety I bring to every set.
I also played basketball for four years at Lenoir-Rhyne University. That still shapes how I approach every performance. I show up on time, stay prepared, and give the same effort whether I’m playing for twenty guests or two hundred.
